Do you know Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Michael Jordan? Obviously yes they are known all over the world because of their gifted talent but none of them really inspire me to play basketball not in NBA. I’m inspire to John Mark Pingris currently playing as a professional basketball player in Philippines but before he made his dream Pingris is just a boy like the others dreaming for it.
John Mark Pingris is born with a single parent because his dad left him when he was just a baby and never come back. When he is a little boy he don’t know how to play basketball he don’t pay interest on that sports and suddenly his best friend told him you can play basketball because you are tall and then he try to play basketball. As a beginners he struggle because he is not talented as the other guy has and he also have another problem because he can’t play to barangay league because he don’t have a pair of sneakers. Her mother barrow to their pastor just to put Pingris on court but the coach don’t use him. The teen Pingris don’t lose his hope he keep on practicing no matter if he is alone on the court because he really want to be a better player, he improve his leaping ability, his dribbling is getting better. He became famous on their barangay because he can dunk the ball and later they recruit him on a higher league MBA but he don’t shine their because there are more better players than him. Some of the PBA legends take him as a practice player and they just give him allowance, One day on a locker room Pingris was so hungry and when he open his locker he saw a rice that was stock for a week it was already spoiled and he look for some left over foods of his teammates, While he was eating he keep on saying (Someday I will eat delicious food, Someday I will eat delicious food, Someday I will eat delicious food).
The aspirant Pingris never give up when he is manila he is fighting homesick he don’t have cellphone that time and he really want to see his family. Manager of Pingris let him go back to his hometown in Pangasinan and he told Pingris to comeback. The manager expect that Pingris was not going back because he is not happy at all when he was staying in manila. After a week Pingris back to manila and the manager was surprised. He saw Pingris with more determination and positive thinking. The surprised is not over because after Pingris was back to manila someone called a manager about Pingris if he is interested to play in PBL and they signed a contract to play. PBL is basketball league that most a players is aspirant to join the PBA and they have a better chance to be drafted. Pingris play great in PBL and later he was drafted as PBA player. Finally his dream come true, He never give up no matter how hard it is that’s why he succeed.
John Mark Pingris is one of the best now in PBA and he is recruited as a national player of the Philippines to play in other countries.
